International conventions and treaties have placed significant importance on the principles of human
rights since the establishment of the United Nations and the issuance of the Universal Declaration of
Human Rights. These conventions and treaties reflect the shared aspiration of the United Nations (UN) and
its member states to uphold the fundamental human rights enshrined in the declaration. Nevertheless,
the degree of commitment to human rights among member states varies due to diverse cultural, religious,
         political, and economic considerations.

As a result, international courts focusing on human rights issues have emerged, such as the
International Court of Human Rights and the European Court of Human Rights. Human rights topics have
expanded to include fundamental human rights, environmental rights, the rights of vulnerable groups,
human rights in criminal proceedings, and more. In this light, Naif Arab University for Security Sciences
recognized the importance of establishing an academic program that addresses human rights issues and
applications in Arab countries compared to international laws and applications. Therefore, the objective
of the program is to cultivate proficient specialists and experts in the field of human rights, in order to
effectively address the growing demands of security, justice, and human rights institutions.
